The Final Decision

I am so in love. I can't stop opening my photos app and staring at this quilt. I freaking, bloody well, LOVE IT.
I already have two rows put together! I will likely finish it tonight, but I simply couldn't wait to share it.
What do you think?

January Scrap Club

Once a month my mom and I host a group of friends at the studio. Yesterday was our day for January. I had two longarm classes to teach, but still enjoyed the day as a conversational participant!
Once my students were all finished and gone for the day, I quickly dug out my blue winter scene and finished up the background. #highfive Next it will need the appliqué. I will do that part early next week. I will be using my ScanNCut and hopefully can whip up a tutorial as well.
After completing that I took some time to cut all my fabrics for the Chevy quilt, which will be next. I love how bright they are! I am looking forward to starting that one next.
I am quite pleased with my productive day. I wish I had thought to get picks of Mom, Joan, and Christne's hard work, cuz they kicked ass yesterday! :) What did you work on this weekend??

C'est Finite! (Well not the binding...)

I don't even feel the need to write anything here. I am just so happy and proud that this quilt is FINALLY FREAKING DONE.

A second session!

Hehehaha! I always feel so indulgent when I steal the opportunity to sew at home after sewing at work. :)
After getting home the other night, I got straight to supper and bedtime for the shorties. Once they were all tied to their beds, I got right busy. I had done all my pressing and cut the final round of grey logs on the weekend so I literally jumped right into the stitching.

It was a fantastic feeling to attach those final grey strips!! THE END OF THIS QUILT IS IN SIGHT!
My next quilt is so close I can almost taste it! LOL
C'mon now, share! What have you been working on?

20 Minutes Yesterday :)

I got caught up on several things yesterday. This inspired me to load up a quilt which has been lingering for far too long. This Bargello was purchased in 2009, probably Octoberish. It will belong to our second daughter Tylie once it is complete.
I chose to automate the quilting and use the Quilt Path computer on our APQS Millennium. The quilt is large, 97x87 so would require several hours of quilting. Since I do not really have a lot of spare time, automation is the answer! We used a beautiful interlocking feather and gold thread. I am so excited to see this one finished, it has been in progress forever it seems!
Well that is my 20 minutes (although more like an hour)! What did you work on yesterday?

Tricking Myself #20minutesaday

I know this has happened to you. You work and work and work on a project and find yourself, well, bored with it. So then what? Start something new right?

I've tried to tame this bad habit by having a project at home and another at the studio. However the urge has been building to ditch them both and get onto something completely different.

Today, I thought I would bring one of my kits to work. My plan was to open it up, press all the fabrics and then maybe tomorrow I could cut it out. Once I have finished that I will put it away to piece after these projects.  I am hoping that this will cure my urge to jump into something new. I am really not tricking anyone but this has worked for me in the past so why not?

So instead of sharing the blue winter scene or the black and white log cabins here is the bright and sunny Chevy quilt! This was how I spent my #20minutesaday today's :)

What did you work on today?

#20minutesaday Sat Jan 3, 2015

This session became slightly indulgent time wise. I actually spent about an hour cutting, trimming and pressing to prepare for the next step. Not that it was a bad thing, I just skipped a sew session on Sunday so I wouldn't feel greedy. ;)
This Rose Log Cabin has been in progress since 2011. I wanted to do a final push and cross it off my list last year. Due to the time required for this project, that just didn't happen. I am very seriously considering making the quilt out of these blocks only and 'axing' the rose blocks. This would have me completing this quilt in about a week plus pump my stash full of assorted yellow and grey fabrics. I am perfectly ok with that.

These blocks look really cool laid out together. I think this decision will be an easy one.

Did you make time to sew 20 minutes this weekend? :)
